Dr. Austyn C. Grissom grew up in Piedmont, Alabama. He is a graduate of Piedmont High School and a member of the 2009 Alabama 3A State Championship football team. He went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. His favorite memory from college is the 2010 National Championship football season. During his last semester at Auburn, Dr. Grissom was awarded the College of Sciences and Mathematics Dean’s Medal. 

 

Dr. Grissom completed dental school at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in Birmingham where he was elected by his peers to serve as the Vice President of his class. Following graduation, Dr. Grissom worked as a general dentist in Alabama and Texas before returning to school to complete a 26-month residency in endodontics. He completed his endodontic training in Houston, Texas at the renowned University of Texas Health Science Center where he was awarded a Masters of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Endodontics. Dr. Grissom also went on to complete the rigorous three-step board certification process and is currently the only board certified endodontist in Baldwin County, and one of five board certified endodontists in the state of Alabama. Over the past year Dr. Grissom has been published twice in the Journal of Endodontics.

 

Outside of work, Dr. Grissom enjoys spending time with his family and friends, being on the water, traveling, watching Auburn athletics, and enjoying live music. He and his wife Maggie have a German Shepherd named Callie. They reside on the Eastern Shore and are members of Christ the King Catholic Church.
